Whitsunday Camp Monday 14 August to Monday 28 August Camp Leaders; Dave Pass and Chris Roberts

Where: Tasman Holiday Park, Cnr Jubilee Pocket Road and Shute Harbour Rds.

Dave and Chris are working with the van park currently on some good rates so just hold off booking until all that detail has been confirmed.

The South East trade winds can blow strong for a few days at any time, accordingly a 14 day camp is planned in the hope of having at least 9-10 days of perfect paddling weather .

The van park selected is in a central location , friendly staff, pet friendly and an ideal booking and cancellation policy .

There will be day paddles arranged based on the weather, and there are many many options available. Airlie beach itself is a good day paddle along the coast , in and out of marinas , and a good beach for the coffee stop . Shute Hbr offers easy paddles to South Molle Island , North Molle Island , Daydream Island ( coffee and cake ) Long Island and the coast line north of Shute Hbr. As an option for the Kayak Campers Dean has offered to lead a group on a kayak camping trip to the outer Islands . This will be a 7 or more day trip with no supply opportunity on the way . It will be open only to members who have a demonstrated ability to cope with some heavy weather and who are not precious about returning with an extra scratch or two from rocks and coral . So , to impress Dean and Robb , you had best join them at skills days on the Maroochy bar !! For those who are not so adventurous, but want something more than the day paddles might offer or who have done it all before , there will be a 3 or 4 night camp at ” Paddle Bay ” on the north end of South Molle Island .This great camp gives the opportunity for many paddles ( Day Dream , North Molle , circumnavigate South Molle etc ) and access to the many walking tracks and to the now defunct South Molle resort
