SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CLASSES 2022

Basic Skills classes for new students will resume in 2023.

Commencing 11th October 2022 and for the rest of 2022 the classes will be held in moving / bouncy water at Cotton Tree to allow intermediate paddlers (especially previous students) to further develop their skills.  If you don’t know if you are ready for this, come along, but if you spend most of your time swimming, you are not ready.  Experienced club members are also invited to participate.

The intent is to improve paddle skills by using them while having fun.  Activities may include:

– paddling forwards, backwards, sideways, and turning in dynamic water.

– follow the leader

– throwing and retrieving balls

– rescue skills as needed after capsizes

– catching little waves (we are not going out on the Maroochy bar !)

– launching and landing in moving water

The venue is Maroochydore Rotary Park, 37 The Esplanade, Maroochydore.

Launch time is 7am on Tuesday mornings, starting 11 Oct.  We will be finished by 10 at the latest, and will go for coffee and hot chips if we can find a suitable venue.  BRING DRY CLOTHES !
