Brisbane to St Helena / Green Island – Scheduled for 25th September.

Detailed instructions to access the Port of Brisbane boat ramp.

The launch will be from the Whyte Island Boat Ramp.
Be advised that there is no right turn into the ramp.
You must drive past it and then turn back at the Port Drive roundabout to access it.
Driving down from the Sunshine Coast:
  • Head south over the Gateway Bridge and then take the Port of Brisbane Motorway exit. Do NOT take the Lytton Road exit which is the first exit at the bottom of the bridge.
  • Continue along the Port of Brisbane Motorway for around 7km Following the signs to the Port of Brisbane.  The Motorway ends and the road twists and turns until you come to the large sign in the centre of the road displaying Port of Brisbane.
  • Continue straight through the first roundabout, then cross the bridge with the river on your left side.
  • Directly after the bridge take the left exit signposted Port Drive.  Follow through to the next roundabout going right around and exiting at the City exit and now heading back in the direction from which you have just come.
  • Cross the bridge again and directly after the bridge turn left at a level crossing leading to the boat ramp.  The distance from the roundabout to the level crossing is 1.2km.

Observe all speed signs in the Port precincts as it is heavily monitored with cameras.

Should wind conditions be unsuitable for a paddle to St Helena, we will have an alternative paddle in the river past the port itself and out to the mouth and then clockwise around the reclaimed land at the end of the port.
